OH! Courses: A fun-filled day at Chantilly racecourse on 1st July 2023 - Free entry

On Saturday 1st July 2023, Chantilly racecourse is throwing open its gates for a family-friendly event called “OH! Courses”. Racecourse entry is free for all visitors. Watch nine flat races run from 3pm onwards, as well as three pony races ridden by budding jockeys.

In addition to the races, there will be a whole host of free entertainment rolled out all day long. It’s an ideal opportunity to discover horseracing in a convivial and fun atmosphere. Parking is also free for the day. The entertainment continues into the evening with a superb concert, so racegoers can dance the night away after the excitement on the course!

The “1,2,3, Riders Challenge”

The OH Racing! event benefits from significant support from various racehorse trainer associations and from the Jockey Association. Within the framework of this day, an original challenge is set for the staff who take care of the horses on a daily basis, and who ride the gallops every morning in Europe’s largest racehorse training centre, which is based in Chantilly.
On Saturday 1st July at 7pm, the men and women who work in the racing stables are invited onto Chantilly racecourse to take part in the “1,2,3, Riders Challenge”. This fun competition brings the people who usually work behind the scenes of the racing world into the spotlight. Each Chantilly-based stable can enter up to nine participants, who take part in three team challenges

The competition will be held between the races, and is sure to receive enthusiastic support from the spectators in the stands. The competitors are invited to bring some of their own supporters along, and a bonus prize will be awarded to the team that gets the loudest cheers. The “1,2,3 Riders” cup will be awarded to the winning stable at the end of the meeting, and it will be up for grabs again at the next edition of OH Racing!

CONCERT

A celebratory atmosphere

At the end of the day, after the horse races, Chantilly racecourse will turn into a party venue with a festive concert performed by the group Electrik Monday. One of the members of the group is a Chantilly-based trainer, Nicolas Caullery, who will entertain the crowds with covers of well-known pop, disco and rock tunes.

The concert will take place from 9.30pm to 11.30pm, to the delight of the spectators at the OH Racing! event. After a day full of free entertainment and horse races, it’s time to let your hair down and dance the night away!

THE DAY'S SCHEDULE
  • 3.00pm

    The racecourse and refreshment areas open and the entertainment begins.

    General entry to the racecourse is free for children and adults.

  • 4.00pm

    First race (9 races scheduled over the course of the evening, every 30 minutes approx.).

    The pony races will be held in between and after the horse races.

  • 7.00pm

    A fun-filled “1,2,3, Riders Challenge” at Chantilly racecourse. Take a look behind the scenes of the racing world and support the racing stables. Rise to the challenge: 500m bicycle race and relay on a mechanical horse. Beat the Chantilly whipped cream and try to avoid it dripping on your head!

  • 8.00pm

    During this fun-filled day, a wide range of refreshments will be available on Chantilly racecourse. Take your pick from the catering stands, which offer something for all tastes: burgers, hot dogs, chips, pancakes, ice creams, cold drinks and more!

  • 9.30pm

    After a day full of racing action and free entertainment, Chantilly racecourse is putting on an outstanding party, with a concert by Electrik Monday until 11.30pm to round off the OH Racing! event in style!

These new-generation rocking horses take children on a magical ride! A safe introduction to horse riding, to set them on the path to becoming real jockeys.

A fun way to learn about racing!

On your marks, get set, go! Jump on an inflatable pony and take part in our PonyHop Race, which enables your children to develop their balance, coordination and stamina. A perfect introduction to life as a jockey!

Get investigating as a family!

Grab a booklet and embark on a treasure hunt that takes you on a tour of the racecourse! With its racing-themed games, this mission requires all of your family’s investigation skills to solve the puzzle.

A 45 to 50-minute adventure for parents and children!

A fun outdoor activity for kids!

With our bouncy castles, your children can jump, run and roll to their hearts’ content! We pull out all the stops to provide your children with plenty of opportunities to play and relax at the racecourse.

Come and let off steam in the great outdoors!

Step into a jockey’s stirrups!

With our hobby horse races, your children can emulate the jockeys themselves! This activity will be a sure-fire hit with our younger racegoers. It is an ideal way to develop their imagination and coordination in a safe way.

A fun-filled race!

Place your children at the heart of the action by entering them in our sack race! Held on the racecourse itself, this sporting activity promises plenty of laughter and fun. Give it a try, either before or after you watch the horses race along the turf.

A mouth-watering selection of refreshments

Discover our mouth-watering selection of refreshments at the “OH Racing!” event on Chantilly racecourse. Step into the food court, where you will find a selection of street food with something for all appetites, from burgers to grilled meats to pizzas to pancakes. For outstanding views of the course, head to the panoramic restaurant.

Sweet-toothed racegoers can indulge in some famous Chantilly whipped cream, showcased by the amazing “Confrérie des Chevaliers Fouetteurs”, who will host whipping demonstrations and more. Trueba are also coming to Chantilly racecourse with their delicious locally-made ice creams.

Please note that additional security checks may be carried out on race days.
We advise visitors not to bring rucksacks, sports bags, motorbike helmets, glass bottles or any large objects into the racecourse.
You may leave these items in the left luggage office.
Pushchairs are welcome inside the racecourse.
For safety reasons, dogs are not permitted inside the grounds.
