On the stage in Diane’s Village

The Prix de Diane Longines event always starts with a live concert.

This year, Diane’s Village will play host to young artist Adé on the main stage. The chic picnic will begin at midday, to the sound of her soothing melodies.

Adé will present her first solo album, called “Et alors?”, which caused a sensation when it was released in September 2022. After two albums with the group Thérapie Taxi, Adé embarked on a new musical adventure. Her album is a blend of sensual pop and futuristic country music that explores the different facets of love.

In a saloon atmosphere with a hint of melancholy, Adé sings, “broken hearts wish you a happy new year.”

LONGINES, NAMING SPONSOR OF THE PRIX DE DIANE LONGINES 2023

The Swiss watchmaking brand is delighted to be the Naming Sponsor, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the hugely popular Prix de Diane Longines, the most elegant French racing event.

With no fewer than ten races scheduled over the course of this prestigious and glamorous race day, Sunday 18th June promises a thrilling afternoon of sport for horseracing fans.

Having been involved in equestrian sports since 1869 and having teamed up with some of the most important equestrian events across the globe, Longines is delighted to time the race that represents the high point of this event, the Prix de Diane Longines. The winning owner, trainer and jockey will be presented with an exceptional Longines timepiece.

The Prix de Diane Longines is, above all, a veritable symbol of elegance that is also embodied by the Official Watch presented by the watchmaking brand, which comes from the new Longines DolceVita X YVY line.

The renowned rectangular-shaped watches have been given a new identity and are coupled with sophisticated leather straps designed by Swiss designer Yvonne Reichmuth. Their design – evoking a horse’s bridle and harness – gives a nod to the equestrian world that Longines so favours.

The Prix de Diane Longines

A prestigious prize that embodies all the history of the race!

Since 1843, the Prix de Diane Longines has attracted exceptional fillies to its pastoral location alongside Chantilly Castle and the magnificent Princes de Condé stables.
Every year in June, this grand prix for three-year-old fillies is a highlight of the European flat-racing calendar as it helps to select prestigious bloodlines that will have an exceptional career at stud.
Fillies that have the ability to qualify for this race are coveted by owners around the world.
Of the 10 races on the Card throughout this exceptional day-long event, the Prix de Diane Longines has the most prize money with €1 million on offer, including €571,400 for the winner.

HISTORIC VICTORY BY A FEMALE JOCKEY IN 2022
British jockey Hollie Doyle went down in Prix de Diane history in 2022: 180 years after this grand prix was created, she became the first woman to win the race, riding the filly Nashwa.

If you are seeking out an exceptional event, then look no further than the Prix de Diane Longines – a magical event that has written many a chapter in the sport’s history.

€1M: The purse for the Prix de Diane Longines, making it one of the most richly-rewarded races in the flat racing season.
Before their race, the jockeys parade around the paddock and the horses parade along the course. The prizes are presented on a podium set up in front of the grandstand, on the course itself.

400 participants will head to the podium in their finest hats as they look to take home the famous Mademoiselle Diane by Longines award.

2,000 collector’s edition hat-boxes each containing a lunch will be consumed at the biggest ultra-chic picnic of the year on the lawns of the Hippodrome de Chantilly.

57 countries will broadcast the Prix de Diane Longines live.

2 minutes: 2’03’’77 is the track record for this race, run over a distance of ten and a half furlongs. It is held by Trêve, who won the Prix de Diane in 2013 at an average speed of 61km/h.

7 wins: HRH The Aga Khan has enjoyed the most success at the Prix de Diane Longines over the years, with Shemaka (1993), Vereva (1997), Zainta (1998), Daryaba (1999), Zarkava (2008), Sarafina (2010) and Valyra (2012) taking the honours.

2 doubles: only two fillies have achieved the double of winning the Diane and then the greatest race in the world, the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe: Trêve and Zarkava.

5 wins is the most for any single jockey, with four of them sharing this particular record. Gérald Mossé is the current rider with the most success in the race, having won it five times between 1988 and 1999.

2 women have trained a Diane winner:
– Christiane Head: Harbour (1982), Egyptband (2000) and Trêve (2013).
– Corinne Barande-Barbe: Carling (1995).

24 out of 30: over the past three decades, French-trained fillies have won 24 of the past 30 Prix de Diane, way ahead of the UK (4 wins ) and Ireland (2 wins)!

Ever since it was first held, the biggest fillies’ race has always taken place at its home in Chantilly – there where it all began!
In 1833, Prince Lobanoff and Messrs de Normandie, d’Hédouville, de Wagram and de Plaisance were attending a hunting party.
En route on their horses, they crossed over a vast plain stretching out in front of Chantilly Castle and its main stables. They remarked upon the good flexibility of the land and held a race among friends to test it out, which was won by Monsieur de Normandie, future president of the Jockey Club.
The gentlemen were already very taken with English horse-racing and had been searching in vain for an ideal location to build a track worthy of rubbing shoulders with their counterparts on the other side of the Channel. Monsieur de Normandie succeeded in gaining the support of the Duke of Orleans – one of the sons of King Louis-Philippe and also an avid racing fan – and they agreed to organise a meet the following spring. And thus Chantilly racecourse in its unique setting was born!
Not far from the course, Chantilly Forest is home to the largest training centre for racehorses. Every morning, more than 2,200 horses – under the auspices of 110 trainers – head out to run along the tracks that are maintained by France Galop, where future champions prepare for competition.

Longines, the “Timekeeper” of International Racing
The Swiss watchmaker Longines has been rooted in the world of sport since 1878. In France, they are currently the official timekeepers at the racecourses of Chantilly, Deauville and Longchamp. The Prix de Diane Longines, run every June at Chantilly, perfectly represents this elegant partnership, mirroring performance and precision. The Prix de l’Opera, a championship race for fillies and mares run during the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe week-end, is also sponsored by the brand.

In addition, Longines is a partner of the International Federation of Horse Racing Authorities and sponsors the International Classifications as well as the International Jockeys’ Championship. They are also associated with top class racing events in Australia, the UAE, Qatar, South America, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Ireland, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong and China, as well as in the United States.

Through these partnerships, Longines is associated with the most prestigious horse racing meetings across the globe and, as a result, merits the title of the “timekeeper” of racing.
